Training module coming: testers wanted
Your entire flight training, digital and right in apron:pilot: the training module will be released in 2027. Until 31 October 2026 I am looking for administrators to test it first.

Keeping track of training progress, flight exercises, theory and records takes a lot of time in flight schools and clubs. It is often spread across spreadsheets, paper forms and several separate tools. That is exactly where the new training module for apron:pilot comes in.
With the training module you run your entire flight training digitally, in your flight school or club – from enrolment to the signed completion.
What the training module will do
The module brings training right into apron:pilot, where bookings, the logbook and ratings are already managed. A few glimpses of where development stands:

- Training courses from EASA templates – syllabi for PPL(A), LAPL(A), Night Rating(A), aerobatics, and sailplane and banner towing are ready. Build your own training courses alongside them from prerequisites, theory and flight exercises.
- Digital student file – every student gets a file per training course with the assessment of every flight exercise, the minimum flight times and their progress, up to date after every entry.
- Debriefing straight from the logbook – log a training flight and debrief it in one step. Learning points go to the student, internal remarks stay among instructors.
- Courses with sessions – plan theory courses and other sessions for whole groups, with materials and an online link. Participants accept or decline online, and completing a session ticks off the theory in the student files of everyone present.
- Instructor status – all your instructors’ ratings colour-coded in one table. Training flights with an expired rating are caught at booking.
- Functions and permissions for your school – flight students, instructors, examiners and training admins see exactly what they need for their job. You share the work without handing out admin rights.
- Overview & statistics – who is in training, completions, flight hours and the average training duration at a glance.
- Export & archive – every student file as a complete PDF, archived automatically by email every week or month if you like.

This is only a selection. More EASA syllabi as training course templates and further features will follow in later stages. For an overview, see the Training page.
Who the module is for
The training module is aimed at administrators and heads of training of:
- EASA declared training organisations (DTOs)
- Flying clubs with their own training
- Charter operators with an affiliated flight school
When it will be released
The training module will be released in 2027 as an add-on that you can book separately, just like Invoicing. Before it goes live, I want to test it with real users and build their feedback in before the release.
Important: During the test phase the module is a beta version, so errors may still occur. Please keep your official training records in parallel as usual.
Want to take part?
I am looking for administrators who will try the module in daily use and tell me honestly what works and what is still missing. What you get as a tester:
- Early access to the module and a direct say in its development
- A reduced price for your first year after release
- A direct line to me as developer and product manager
Send me a short note with your role, the training courses you offer (e.g. PPL(A), LAPL(A), Night Rating(A)) and roughly how many flight students, aircraft and training hours per year you have.
The deadline is 31 October 2026. Places are limited to a few participants so that I can look after each one personally.
